Akorda Residence of the President of Kazakhstan

The Akorda, the white horde, Presidential Palace is the official workplace of the President of Kazakhstan, located in the capital city of Astana. The Residence of the President of Kazakhstan was designed, constructed, decorated, furnished and equipped on a turnkey basis by the Mabetex Group. For this work, unique in its kind, the Mabetex Group has received great recognition. This building contains the most modern infrastructure and was designed in a traditional style, it represents the symbol of the new Republic of Kazakhstan. One of the greatest symbols of Mabetex’s achievements in Kazakhstan has been the construction of the President’s Residence.
The building’s height (including the spire) is 80 meters. The first floor includes a Grand Central Hall, the Hall of Press Conferences, the Gala Hall, and the Winter Garden. The second floor includes offices, while the third floor is used for international events, and includes various halls (Marble Hall; Golden Hall; Oval Hall; Oriental Hall, built in the form of a yurt; the Hall of Extended Negotiations. The fourth floor includes a Dome Hall, meeting hall for the Government of the Republic, and the Library. The color gold features prominently throughout the complex and twenty-one types of marble were used for the floor patterns.

The Presidents Residence is a part of a complex of modern administrative buildings in the new centre of the city and its main purpose is to symbolize the new face of Kazakhstan.
The facades of this building, a significant aspect of this palace are made of travertino stone from Sicily. The stones are measured in size of 10 to 32 cm, much in the same way as in ancient buildings were built.

Akorda Presidential Palace was built within three years, and officially opened in 2004.
